The Mission Call

On January 23, 2014, Alden excitedly checked his mail for the long awaited white envelope addressed to "Elder Alden Hilton," and was so happy to see it waiting for him. Later that evening friends and family gathered around, in person, through Skype, and on cellphones to listen to him read his call:


Dear Elder Hilton:

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the El Salvador San Salvador East Mission.


Alden will be speaking Spanish and will report to the Guatemala Missionary Training Center on May 14 to learn Spanish and receive training on how to be the best missionary he can be. After a few short weeks he will go to El Salvador and there share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he meets.

Alden is so excited, as you can tell from a snippet of his facebook status after he opened his call: "Ahhhh!!! So excited!"
